Value We Create

Our project management expertise is created through our unique pre-mobilisation process. During the developmental stages of a project, our team meets, plans and designs which operational strategy to take. At SMSCL, the pre-mobilisation process involves three critical components – developmental meetings, equipment mobilisation and a personnel matrix to ensure project readiness as well as facilitate operational productivity within each project schedule.

We extensively invest in globally accredited training and SToW and ISO 9001:2015 certifications because we can only give you the best if we are the best. Accolades from our clients such as BPTT’s Terminal Utility Team Award for “Most successful project: 4” Produce Water Line Replacement on V200 Series”, BHP’s “Supply Vendor Awards 2019” and Massy WG’s, “Safety Award: 10 Million Safe Man Hours”, exemplify that we have provided tremendous value through safe and quality work.

Pre-Mobilisation of Equipment

SMSCL’s pre-mobilisation also involves ensuring the right tools and equipment are available for the scope of work. This process uses automation and technology to inspect equipment for function, ability and accuracy, which eliminates safety risks and the threat of manual setting errors. This is a critical part of SMSCL’s pre-mobilisation process, as it saves the client and the team tremendous amounts of machine downtime and the need for non-conformance reports. This enables the execution of work to flow as scheduled, within the project’s timeframe and with high quality.

Developmental Meetings

Pre-mobilisation of a project involves ‘kick-off’ meetings, where the SMSCL team evaluates the project’s objectives and budget, the knowledge and skills required for the job, as well as how work schedules are to be organised in order to complete the project within the specified timeframe. This stage of the pre-mobilisation process determines how construction and human resources will be acquired, allocated and utilised to enable efficient project management.

Personnel Matrix

The developmental stages of project management require us to identify a personnel matrix where we recruit and train a workforce with the relevant knowledge and skills needed to execute the job. Assessing the available human resources and building a competent team helps to achieve the project objectives and complete work deliverables in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Daily Reporting System

SMSCL’s daily reporting system enables an efficient flow of communication between our project team, management and the client. Our team engages in forecasting of work activities, daily documentation of the actual work performed, as well as evaluation reports specifying the overall status of the project. This system provides value to the client and SMSCL’s management by acting as a regular progress report - providing feedback on work deliverables being completed as per client specifications. SMSCL’s Daily Reporting System enables regular exchange of pertinent information so that issues can be identified timely and resolved to maintain a high standard of quality project management for the client.
