Project Overview
The objective of this security infrastructure project was to upgrade the perimeter fencing at PPGPL’s facility to enhance protection against unauthorized access. SMSCL was responsible for removing the existing chain-link fence and installing a high-security wire mesh fence along key areas of the facility’s perimeter, reinforcing loss prevention efforts and ensuring compliance with modern security standards.
How Did SMSCL Help?
Our certified team executed the project with precision, following strict safety protocols and industry best practices. The scope involved the removal of approximately 4,000 feet of outdated chain-link fencing and replacing it with a high-security wire mesh fence system. The work was carried out across the facility’s southern, northern, and western perimeters, including the process and storage areas.
The new high-security fence system was constructed using 8-foot-high panels with 3-inch by ½-inch mesh, reinforced with 3-inch by 3-inch steel posts. To further enhance security, bracket arms were installed at a 45-degree angle along the top of the fence, fitted with three strands of barbed wire. The lowest strand was placed no more than 6 inches above the fence panel, ensuring optimal deterrence.
Upon completion of the installation, the ground at the fence base was leveled to eliminate any gaps, ensuring a secure and uniform perimeter. The team also ensured that all procedural and safety measures were strictly adhered to, minimizing disruption to facility operations.
Safety and Compliance
Given the inherently hazardous nature of the facility, SMSCL adhered to the highest safety standards throughout the project. All work was conducted in accordance with PPGPL’s strict safety guidelines, including continuous inspection and maintenance of tools and equipment, proper contractor welfare, and adherence to designated work areas.
Environmental responsibility was a key focus, with strict housekeeping measures implemented to maintain a clean and organized worksite. Any soil disturbances caused by excavation or heavy equipment were addressed through remedial leveling to restore the area to its original condition.
At SMSCL, we take pride in delivering security infrastructure solutions that enhance facility protection while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
