How Did SMSCL Help?
Client: bpTT
The bpTT 6” Condensate Pipeline running from the Beachfield Slug Catcher Facility to the Terminal Galeota Facility had integrity issues associated with internal corrosion. A repair plan was generated for installation of engineered split sleeve pipeline clamps following two scenarios: 1. An ILI internal inspection, or 2. A pipeline LOPC. Ten locations along the line, were identified as compromised with above acceptable % wall loss at each point. SMSCL’s execution team was required to ensure readiness to install a clamp(s) should a leak be evident along the line.
Mobilization and Site Preparation- SMSCL’s team identified an area to prepare for welfare setup. Once identified, our resources (personnel, tools and equipment) were mobilized and clearing of the existing vegetation of approximately 10’ by 500’ commenced. Provision of Welfare Facilities- SMSCL provided welfare facilities: meals, dringking water and toilets, to accommodate eighty workers. Additionally, 24hr armed security coverage were provided for the duration of the project. Excavation works- SMSCL provided a Magnometer Technician to perform scans prior to excavation works. Once excavation was done, the pit was dewatered, and the piping was cleaned and dunnage/ support was placed under the 6” line prior to repair of the line. During execution of the pipeline repair phase, SMSCL provided support to the mechanical contractor with confined space entry services, permits and maintaining the integrity of the excavation such as ensuring shoring was intact, pit was dewatered, pipe was clean. Reinstatement and Demobilization- SMSCL cleaned the base of the pit, placed sandbags below the 6” pipe, removed dunnage and commenced backfilling and compaction of the pit. All backfilled materials were cleaned and free from debris. Completed backfilling of the pit and reinstated the area to prior state and demobilize.
